This beautiful sun kissed shoot was from earlier on this summer. Mel & Paul plan to marry at one of Dorset’s premiere venues, Athelhampton House, which is just outside Dorchester. Its going to be a wedding and a location that I cant wait to photograph.
I had met Mel at several wedding shows in the area at the begining of the year, where she had meticulously chosen a few select suppliers. I am pleased to say that I made the cut and, so we arranged our meet up & E-shoot at a local beauty spot – The Wishing Well at Upwey.
The Wishing Well was a favourite resting place for King George III who often visited on route back to London after bathing and spending time in Weymouth bay. It had long been held to be very good for medicinal purposes. Gentry and Royalty alike both sought the effects said to come from drinking the water.
A gold cup was kept for his majesty’s use. It is the same cup that was presented by a member of the Royal Family to the Royal Ascot club as a presentation trophy.
History aside, there are now some wonderful tea rooms with an ajoining art gallery. The gardens have been extensively planted to make a real secret garden with a sub tropical twist – a great setting for photography or to spend a lazy afternoon, its idyllic!
Hope you like the images and cant stress how much I am looking forward to seeing Mel & Paul on the wedding day itself. Its going to be amazing!!
Like many visitors to Upwey’s Wishing Well, Paul & Mel decided to toss a coin each into the well, no doubt hoping for good fortune for their pending marriage.
Not being a persuit practiced everyday, it almost resulted in Mel taking my eye out with a rogue coin ! It was a good thing I had the camera to my face & I was braced for the incoming attack 🙂
