Andy & Jenna’s Bridport Wedding | Wedding Photographer Dorset

Andy & Jenna’s Bridport Registry Office wedding holds many great memories for me, as well as I am sure for the couple.  From the fast pace of the start of the day, to the emotional ride for all concerned, the grooms sister breaking down half way through her speech in the ceremony, to Andy’s brother delivery a very sincere words at the reception that bought both his mother and the groom to tears!  Each moment was priceless and it was a privilege to be there, to witness it and to have captured it.  The tears of joy along with the many bouts of laughter.

I had spoken to Jenna a few days before her big day to discuss start times for the bridal preps, and she apologised that she had been let down by one of her suppliers and would need to be chasing across town from an early doors appointment at the hair salon and then over to the make up artist, before returning to the house.  She didn’t want to trouble me with this, but it was a no brainer for me.  If this was how her day was to unfold and what she was going to go through, I was going to be there – to capture the story as it happened.

My philosophy and approach to weddings is simple, important aspects have to be captured even if they are discounted upon the edit or the album design.  It is far better to have than to have not, as it is a unique day that can never be re-run!

So with an 8.30 salon appointment being the starting point ( back at the salon where we coincidentally met), I was up at the crack of dawn for an early walk with the dogs and my reward was a beautiful sunrise captured on my iphone .  With this picture so sweetly offered up to me I just knew it was going to be an incredible day!

This good omen came true with a wonderful day full of coincidences. The wedding ceremony was at Bridport Registry Office which was the first Dorset wedding venue I shot at around 3 years ago when I moved to the area.  Come to think of it, my work has come on and matured somewhat since then, in fact this is a fundamental to my approach to weddings.  I approach each one fresh with it being an opportunity to better my work and to sharpen and hone my skills.

The other co-incidence was that it was a chance appointment at the local hair boutique in Weymouth that we crossed paths.  Chatting with the stylist, kelly – I happened to mention my latest work on a Photofilm.  I had just finished editing up the film of a wedding where I had recorded the couple exchanging vows and the after dinner speeches, and just so happened to have it loaded onto my iPhone.  Jenna was there , saw it and the rest….. well the rest is below!
