Dipping our toes as a St Giles House Wedding Photographer & videographer. Harj & Laura’s wedding at this stunning Dorset Stately Home was our first working visit and such a unique opportunity for us. The second opportunity of working alongside Ryan who was shooting videography and the maiden flight of the new drone.
The weather was perfect for an October morning, a slight mist was clearing as I arrived, that soon cleared once I put the drone up in the sky. This Dorset wedding venue is as stunning from the air as it is on the ground! The acres of land with the main lawn, lined with trees framing your view down onto the house – it’s simply stunning!
A loathing for group shots?… & the perfect solution!
On the lead up to Harj & Laura’s wedding, the unavoidable topic of group shots arose. I was primed to advise my preference towards half a dozen and no more, along with my reasoning behind this, when I was met with a refreshing, new approach! They jointly wished to have no group shots, instead they were going to send me through some pictures of their closest family & friends, then leave it to me just to simply catch them, naturally throughout the day. Pure music to my ears!
St Giles Wedding Photographers
St Giles House is a distinctively beautiful building, recently renovated, and having won many awards for this. Aesthetically it’s a photographers dream location, light is in abundance with huge windows illuminating every internal aspect perfectly. Bridal preparations through to ceremony, soft light left us to concentrate on the moments and compositions, On adjourning outside, the open aspect grounds gave up their own charms of being a perfect place to explore, from the lakes to the gardens – this would be hard to beat!
St Giles Wedding Videographers
St Giles House is the jewel in the crown of Dorset Wedding Venues. It’s a statement venue, and it has every reason to be! If you are looking for refinement and a little bit of quirky – it’s there. What other venue has it’s own basement converted into a fully fitted out night club, decks, PA and strobes. The party can certainly go on onto the early hours as Harj and Laura’s did having morphed from Bangra into their joint love of thrash metal! What a day & what a party! Congratulations guys.
Awesome stuff dude! I particularly love your black and whites, and the couples shots on the bridge.
Great work as always Linus. Love the garden shots and that dress. Great coverage.
WOW what a fantastic set of images. Also really love the video from the day, really well put together.
Thanks Dominic – glad you appreciated it. It great to be involved in both the stills and film side of capturing a wedding day story.
Lovely images and what a great way to compromise on the group shots. I love that idea (stealing it) ?
Yes, thats a cracking way to move away from group shots. I hope to see this a little more going forward & yes, by all means spread the word – it would be great if it caught on!
Great moments, fantastic colours and stunning venue. You nailed it mate!
Lovely use of the low autumn light Linus. Great seeing the drone at work to! 🙂
Thanks Harry – it’s a beautiful location to put that drone up and have a look around. Great aspects to be seen!
