When Callum & Stephannie said they wanted to do their engagement shoot in London, it made perfect sense. Not only is it their city, but it’s also where their story began – full of character, energy, and a few tube-related plot twists.

The South Kensington Date That Almost Didn't Happen
Their first date came with a story worthy of a romcom. They met up and headed by tube to South Kensington, where things took an unexpected turn – quite literally. As the train pulled into the station, Callum hopped off, expecting Stephannie to follow. But caught in the hustle and bustle of the moment, she didn’t make it off in time – and the doors closed behind her.
Callum, left on the platform, could only watch as his date disappeared down the tracks.
Thankfully, they reconnected via phone, and the date was saved – but it gave us the perfect narrative thread to loosely revisit during their shoot.

Capturing the Story in Landmarks
We retraced their early steps – the tube, South Kensington station, and a trip to the Science Museum, where they first held hands and shared their first kiss. No need for a dramatic tube reenactment; the real magic was in the places that had meaning to them.
From there, we headed over to London Bridge, diving into the buzzing energy of Borough Market before strolling along the South Bank. Crossing over the Thames via Millennium Bridge gave us the perfect opportunity for portraits with St Paul’s in the background – one of the busiest spots imaginable, but we made it work thanks to a little timing and tech.
Just around the corner from St Paul’s, we found that classic modern-glass-and-reflection spot – only this time it came with a twist: a pair of fast food stalls parked right where couples usually stand. A compromise was struck, and it still worked beautifully.
Further along, we found a tucked-away ornamental pool – peaceful, photogenic, and perfectly framed by the iconic dome of St Paul’s behind them.

Finishing Where It All Began
After a solid session around the city, we jumped back on the tube to South Kensington and headed into the Science Museum – a place full of history, energy, and creative photo potential. Then it was out into Kensington Palace Gardens for the final stretch – softer light, quieter paths, and that golden London glow to wrap up our shoot.
All in all, we covered some serious ground and shot a great mix of naturally candid and lightly posed images – capturing both the heart of their story and the personality they bring as a couple.

Shout Out to Joy
Big thanks to Steph’s friend Joy for tagging along – equal parts make-up artist, bag carrier, stylist, and behind-the-scenes photographer. She grabbed a bunch of images of me at work, which I’ll be sharing soon as a “how it looked vs how it turned out” feature.
Linus was happy to travel to London and see where the day would take us. He was great at giving suggestions for ways to pose. We are extremely pleased with the delivered images!

Can’t Wait for the Big Day
Spending time with Callum & Stephannie was a total pleasure – laid-back, full of laughs, and a brilliant opportunity to connect before their wedding day. It’s clear they’re a perfect match, and the locations they chose were not just visually stunning but packed with personal meaning.
I can’t wait to join them again later this year at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham – a gorgeous venue for a gorgeous couple.
