Despite a dramatic forecast (including unseasonable high winds in July), spirits were high. The ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with laughter and meaningful glances. Even with the heavens opening, there was warmth everywhere.
From the church, guests and photographer regrouped just minutes away at a local field where the marquee awaited. This wasn’t a polished hotel reception — it was a homegrown, community-built setup full of personality. A proper Somerset marquee wedding with style and soul.
The Day in Motion: From Preps to Puddles
The day began at home with Sonia and her bridesmaids — the usual hive of activity buzzing around hair, makeup, flowers and a beautifully chaotic kitchen. I love being part of this pre-wedding rhythm — it sets the tone for everything that follows.
The moment Sonia left for the church was one I won’t forget. Most people arrive in a classic car. Sonia arrived in a gleaming new tractor, nodding to her and Len’s farming roots. Her bridesmaids laughed, villagers stopped to wave, and I made sure to get the shot as they rumbled up to St Michaels.
