[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A stark difference in the weather greeted me on this return visit to document Kim and Matt’s wedding. This time Dorchester Wedding Photography at Kingston Maurward House was going to be an ideal opportunity to enjoy and utilise the full run of Kingston Maurward House and grounds. The weather was on side and everything was going to flow beautifully!
I joined Kim and her bridesmaids getting prepared at her fathers home in Chickerell, Weymouth which was lovely. It gave me a most unusual detail shot of the bouquet, having a horse in its background. With the garden backing onto an open field, a few clicks of the camera attracted the inquisitive interest from the resident horses.
Capturing all the hustle & bustle around the preparations really delivers some great images. My last one in the preparations ended with Kim revealing the dress and the finished bride to her father. It really blew him off his feet and was a joy to see and capture.
From here it was a dash over to St John’s Church, Weymouth for the ceremony. A lovely church with a beautiful decor and wonderful stained glass window above the alter.
Unfortunately, this was one of the few occasions where I was instructed that there was to be no photography form the front of the church what so ever. Neither was there to be any photography during the ceremony, so I was in many respects curtailed from getting any of the usual exchanges between Bride and Groom. A shame but a reality never the less.
After the obligatory confetti shot on the steps of the church the bridal party relocated to Kingston Maurward House, Dorchester for the reception. A beautiful wedding venue with a great selection of themed gardens and architectural outbuildings with which to capture some great Dorchester wedding photography.
A first for me…. a chocolate themed wedding, from the colour of the Bridesmaids dresses to the table settings. The Bride naturally, looked absolutely beautiful with a 1950’s inspired dress that was perfect – a classic Audrey Hepburn inspired look.
A great family and group of friends it was a pleasure to be there to capture all the details. Congratulations Kim & Matt and thank you!
