Its always been an intention to include a little variety of subject matter within this blog. Not wanting to stick purely to wedding pics, wedding pics and more wedding pics – I intend every now and then to include small features from select suppliers that would be of interest and I hope a welcomed breath of fresh air.
My first feature is on the heavenly Cakes created by Lisa Notley. So the glorious backdrop of Portland stone Quarry was carefully selected for our shoot. A choice location for walkers, mountain bikers, cake makers and photographers !
Having been in the cake business for over 10 years Lisa is an established name regularly exhibiting at the main Bridal Fayres as well as having a portfolio of media press cuttings as long as your arm.
Lisa offers a national delivery service for her home made on the farm, individually designed wedding cakes. She started her company Wedding Cakes By Lisa Notley , 10 years ago in her picturesque farmhouse in Pulham, Dorset and her reputation has been built on the flavour and texture of her cakes as much as the beautiful, classical, contemporary or innovative designs.
All her creations use farmhouse Butter and eggs, whilst her flour is milled in the Cotswolds, her passion is as much for the flavour of the last crumb of the cake as it is for the icing or chocolate.
“All my cakes are made individually, and I never compromise on taste or attention to detail. I work closely with each bride and incorporate the theme of the wedding into each cake, creating designs which are truly unique. The lovely letters I get from married couples about how much they and their guests enjoyed the cake is worth every extra hour spent in the kitchen,” explained Lisa.
