Clean foregrounds within which to isolate subjects, vast open stretches of water, ornate architectural temples and stunning landscaped gardens reminiscent of great Italian landscape painters of the 17th century.

Having covered an amazing wedding there earlier this year, I can easily sing Stourhead praises. The Church ceremony at St Peter’s Church yielded some amazing images, being so picturesque. The church dating from 1290, having many Grade 1 listed memorials that lend structure, atmosphere and creative compositions.

Guests walked from the 13th-century church to the Jacobean manor. There were surprise family arrivals from Australia. The White Stripes played during the couple’s entrance. And the speeches? Equal parts hilarious + heartfelt.
