Why I love this picture is quite simple.
I look at the bridal preparation period as being an opportunity to gently ease into the day, both for myself as well as the bride. For her to get used to the camera being around and in turn to offer up a few photographic gems.
Lauren’s recent wedding was a wedding that I had been particularly looking forward to, and unknown to me, her mother was also a very keen photographer.
So to make sure her daughter had the best possible view of herself getting ready she bought into the property an extra large mirror. An added extra that worked well both for Lauren and especially for me. It’s also another way to make a wedding photographers life just a little bit easier!
Whilst sitting back for a moment and studying the various angles from where best to shoot, I saw that we had two framing opportunities! Both contributing a strong compositional quality that immediately jumped out at me.
My biggest problem was maintaining or should I say eliminating my own reflection from appearing in the composition, but it happened and I’m very pleased with the frame.
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Great job Linus, I love multiple mirror shots, and this is a belter!
Cracking image Linus! It was totally worth squeezing into the corner of the room to get this shot. Mum and daughter I’m sure will be very grateful to you for creating such a special image.
