Planning a wedding can be a very daunting prospect and on the whole even the greatest of organised individuals could find themselves struggling under the pressure of things. If you are anything like myself, I am a perfectionist and do not like to settle for anything less!
On a wedding day image and appearance are everything ! Dont get me wrong, I am not saying that they need to be expensive or indeed up to date with the latest fad, fashion or label – what I mean is that when you do something, you do it once and you do it well!
Only recently I ordered new marketing leaflets for my wedding photography from a local printers as I like to encourage using local suppliers, but I was let down. There were two major issues with the layout and border areas which just seemed to jump out at me as wrong and substandard, something that I could not and indeed would not use to publicise my services with. My services have to be perfect and so too should your wedding.
Being an artist my eye and attention to detail is something upon which I have built a business and reputation upon. If something is wrong or not the way it should be I WILL to be the one to find it and correct it, not a client or friend.
With this goal in mind, perfection; I have just started to use a new ( new to me anyway ) social media called Pinterest. Its a great pictoral platform in which you can kind of bookmark or should I say compile your own, unique scrap book of images. Its a great system of huge interlinking notice boards and it has countless possibilities and uses for the Bride to be.
Just think of all the little details that you will be looking for, to get them just right. Rather than leaving a bouquet or button hole described to a florist, you can just send them or should I say share with them an image that tells them exactly what you want.
You can create many different folders for all the numerous details that you want to get just right. Whether it be the cake, the wedding cake toppers, the bouquet, the chocolate fountain, the table dressings, the Bride’s Maid outfits, or anything to bring together the inter linking colour schemes, you can make suitable folders and gather all your thoughts, ideas & inspirations together in one place.
Joining Pinterest is by invitation only, should you require one just ask me through my contact page.
Go explore – its great fun! You can post the images to other intergrated social networks such as Facebook and Twitter or you can email them direct to any proposed suppliers, so they really get to see what you mean & what you want. Go get pinning now….
