Kingston Country Courtyard Wedding Photographers
Thank you , thank you , thank you , to say that rosy and I are happy with the photography you provided for us for our wedding is an understatement, it was everything we had discussed and more than we hoped, a relaxed and beautifully documentation of our day!
– Martin & Rosy Cheeseman
For no apparent, logical reason – this highly memorable wedding slipped the net…until now! Sitting in the draft section of my blog posts Martin & Rosy’s Kingston Country Courtyard wedding was almost 14 months ago now.
So much has happened since then. So much so that we await news of the arrival of their first baby.
Their day was a wedding day story I wasn’t prepared for, or should I say expecting. There again there is no preparation or expectation within my photography, apart from the batteries are charged and I’m ready to go!
My style and direction is about connecting with moments and readily reacting to them. Making subtle changes on the fly within compositions in capturing the story.
We met at a wedding Fair
Having met over a year before their wedding date at a local wedding fair, I should have known that this wedding was going to stick out from the pack. Rosy was insistent that she wanted one of my Photofilms. (A film made up of stills photography along with audio recordings from the day. With the vows and the wedding breakfast speeches being interwoven throughout).
This Bride was planning a speech. It may well have been unscripted on the day, but the gravity of her words, along with those of her Dad Tim, struck me hard. I’m sure it did the same with everyone else present in the room, but controlling the glassy eye’s I had with tears welling up, was one of those moments I was thankful for autofocus!

In Dad Tim’s words… “an emotional rollercoaster that doesn’t come close to describing the ensuing years!” Tells of this family’s journey and battle through Rosy’s eating disorder. The toll it took upon all of them was huge, but the strength they have within their family is what carried them through. Bringing them all to a day that at times, they never thought they would see.
This kind of story isn’t often shared so publicly. When it is though, it does make you sit up, wise up and really connect. Seeing and understanding what family, marriage and commitment is all about.
There can be so much unnecessary fluff associated with a wedding, this wedding had none of it. Lashings of heart felt love, connection and soulfulness. Go feel it yourself and check out their Photofilm below.
