I’m a Gorwell Farm Wedding Photographer capturing unique wedding celebrations set within an area renowned for natural beauty.
Located a short distance away from the picturesque village of Abbotsbury, tucked away on a Dorset Hillside, this venue has so many attributes perfect for couples planning their wedding.
The barn itself is pretty much a blank canvas, for couples to adapt, decorate and personalise towards their own taste and requirements.
Beautifully converted a few years ago when the farm owners celebrated one of their own childrens wedding, no expense has been spared. There are beautiful flag stone floors, central heating, and modern toilets installed, along with kitchen facilities. A good proportion of natural light fills the interior, which certainly comes in useful for us as wedding photographers!
Gorwell Farm Wedding Photographers
Our first introduction to the venue as a Gorwell Farm Wedding Photographer was when we covered Alex & Lucy’s wedding in Summer of 2015. The setting, location and vibe of the place struck myself so much so that I held one of my own marriage celebrations there myself!
There are only a handful of wedding venues available in Abbotsbury, within which to hold both a wedding ceremony and reception. Gorwell Barn Weddings can cater for between 120 – 150 guests. You are free to use your own suppliers for catering, bar, entertainment, venue dressing or you can call upon those recommended by the venue.
On site accommodation for up to 18 people is available, using the stunning farm house cottages next to the wedding venue.

On our own wedding day, we kept things very much to a minimum – portrait wise. We wanted to stay and enjoy our guests as much as possible, so we chose to head off out of the valley (2 minute drive) to catch the sunset. Perfect timing and great location for my colleague Oana to capture her own memorable wedding day images for us as a Gorwell Barn Wedding Photographer, and a Gorwell Barn Bride & Groom!
