Holton Lee Weddings are always a joy to capture. Known for their relaxed atmosphere, natural surroundings and ability to be very personal, with couples being able to tailor make their day.
Donna & Pete’s wedding was a pleasure to capture, displaying all the virtues and more, expected from a great Dorset wedding.
I started the day meeting up with Donna and her party at the Chocolate Hotel in Bournemouth. Documenting the preparations, along with the last minute rehearsal of her performance of ‘At Last’ by Etta James.
The church ceremony was a short distance away at the Holy Angels in Poole, then a quick portrait session over looking Sandbanks, before heading onto the reception party at Holton Lee.
Most weddings have familiar patterns, preparations, ceremony, reception, with similar words and customs being performed. But Donna and Pete’s day was set apart from many I had seen before.
They did mark their first dance some what differently, having a break dancing flash mob invade the dance floor, much to everyones enjoyment.
But they also went a step further with a personal family tribute that I had not seen before.
Two very important family members were not present on the day – Donna’s parents. Both had unfortunately passed, a devoted couple, that couldn’t bear to be apart.
As a small tribute Donna, her sister and family members gathered in the filed outside the marquee to pay their respects and release two balloons in their memory.
To capture these moments, witness the emotions, and to document their day is such a privilege.
Access to precious insights within family relationships and being able to record them is something very special.
As a wedding photographer being granted this honour and responsibility is something I cherish, as it opens my eyes as well as my soul. Creating a visual record of memories and emotions drives me forward both artistically and spiritually.
A wonderful day to be part of amongst great family and friends.
Congratulations Donna & Pete and thank you for asking me to capture the day. It was such a privilege.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][dt_gap height=”25″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][dt_gap height=”25″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you are planning your own wedding, love our work and looking for Bournemouth Wedding Photographers to capture your day, please share the vision for your day on our contact page.
