A Dorset Seaside Wedding in February….quite a gamble with the weather, but I like living dangerously!
Claire & Leighton’s wedding was held at the Cove House Inn. Â A small, intimate wedding venue over looking Chesil beach in Dorset.
With the couple living and working over in Dubai, this was a close family ceremony with a dozen guests. I love small weddings, they have a unique charm and as this day proved to be memorable. Â Delivering some lovely documentary wedding photography full of raw emotion. Â Less emphasis on the commercial details, keeping the focus on the people that matter- Bride, Groom and their gathered guests.
It’s touch and go at the best of times with the weather for a Dorset seaside wedding, especially in February. Â This year though, the area had been making national news on a daily basis with its extremely harsh weather of 30ft waves battering the venue the proceeding week. Â Two days before, the wind dropped and come the day, the sun shone… spectacularly!
A full post will follow shortly, but for now just the two images to share. Â One documentary group shot of the bridal party walking from the venue, everybody present and captured in context – naturally. Â No need for posed formal shots when you can get a perfectly framed real life wedding photo.
The later shot, being more of a contemporary portrait of Claire & Leighton. Â I love working as wedding photographer on the south coast. Â The weather is changeable, but when the sun comes out – it’s so worth it. Â That deep blue sky is a beautiful backdrop within which to frame a couple and get some wonderful wedding portraits.
