Gavin & Michelle were the first couple to ask us to capture their West Dorset wedding within our Axnoller Farm Wedding Photography & videography. Having heard so much about the venue, along with stunning imagery, we knew it was going to be a great experience.
The venue has so many attributes, it’s easy to understand why it has become one of the most popular Dorset Wedding Venues.
A huge main mansion house, ideal for the bridal preparations, along with immediate family accommodation. It’s frontage being the perfect place to hold outdoor ceremonies, with chairs aligned upon the lawn. Unfortunately for us, the weather wasn’t onside so we had to opt for the indoor ceremony option within the main function room.
Axnoller Wedding Photography
Gavin & Michelle’s wedding was a great experience. The couple left us to do our thing freely flowing to capture imagery and footage that reflected their characters & connection. Thats really the greatest thing we can do! All too often I’ve seen wedding photography here that has been distracted by the contemporary interior design. Wedding photographs resembling a Horse & Hound feature or a number of other interior decorating periodicals. Dont get me wrong – it was beautiful photography, it just looked like it was meant for a different market.
For us, it will always be ‘our thing’ to keep the people as the primary story line, the location & setting purely being the environment to set things off, within which to let things happen!
This wedding day had all the energy and strong characters to keep the people storyline free flowing. A very animated Michelle during the ceremony, and some great wedding breakfast speeches inducing rapturous applause. It was a day of Axnoller wedding photography with a couple who made the place their own. They were living the dream and making big memories!
Axnoller Wedding Videographers
Joining me that day was fellow Dorset photographer Greg Thurtle. He was shooting video for me that day as the vision was to create a Fusion Film edit as a further memento from the day. I’m so glad we did – the audio recordings were hilarious and well worth checking out. The tale being spun behind Gavin’s first introduction to the family being especially worthy of a listen! We all have our own tales to tell of similar first meeting the in-laws to be, but I’d imagine not like this one!
