Having been hit by a fleeing German bomber in WW2, when rebuilt its stained glass windows were replaced by a series of spectacular engraved glass windows created by Lawrence Whistler.
Not only are they remarkable in their own right, they also add a delightful feel of light and space to the interior of this church.
This is also the resting place of Lawrence of Arabia, with his funeral having been held here in 1925. He had been a frequent visitor to the Moreton estate, and had rented and subsequently bought a property nearby.
Moreton is a beautiful village with quaint tea rooms, being popular for country walks, its connection with the great T E Lawrence and its stunning church.
